Resettlement of affected residents

The cost for the first phase resettlement of affected residents exceeded 25 million US dollars. From June 2010 to the end of September 2020, SPICYN had supplied free water, provided rice of 2,274 tons, worth of about 1.425 billion Myanmar Kyat (about 1.02 million US dollars), supplied free electricity of 4.95 million kWh, worth of about 370 million Myanmar Kyat (about 264,000 US dollars) to the affected residents for 10 consecutive years. About 30,000 patient-times were treated in the hospitals and clinics built in the resettlement villages. SPICYN also helped the resettled villagers find jobs nearby or in other cities by building bamboo chopsticks factories and providing training.
